Six GOP Senators Join Democrats In Vote For 9/11 Style January 6 Commission, Though Effort Ultimately Fails

(Rallying Patriots) – It would appear as though Democrats’ hopes and dreams to establish a 9/11-style commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol riot have been killed in the Senate.

Despite 6 Republican Senators joining Democrats and voting in favor of the bill, it ultimately failed with a 54-35 vote as Democrats weren’t able to get enough GOP support to reach the 60 votes they needed.

The Republican Senators who joined the Democrats are Senators Bill Cassidy (LA), Mitt Romney (UT), Susan Collins (ME), Ben Sasse (NE), Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Rob Portman (OH).

This list of Republicans should surprise no one. Out of the six of them, only Portman voted not to impeach President Trump during his second impeachment charade which centered around the Capitol event.

Fortunately, their support wasn’t enough for Democrats but their true colors continue to be on display. It’s only a matter of time before these RINOs are voted out and replaced.

Earlier this month, the bill passed in the House with 35 Republicans joining every present Democrat to support starting the commission.

Democrats have been long claiming that the Jan. 6 incident was a violent “insurrection” attempt and that several law enforcement officers were viciously murdered by angry and armed Trump supporters.

The reality is that the only person who lost their life as a result of the incident was veteran Ashli Babbitt who was peacefully protesting when she was shot and killed by a still unnamed Capitol Police officer.

The mainstream media and the Democrats have shamelessly attributed the death of Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick to the riot, claiming he was brutally beaten to death with a fire extinguisher.

Sicknick’s autopsy, as well as his own family, say that he died as a result of natural causes stemming from a stroke which occurred after the riot.

Despite the actual facts surrounding what happened on Jan. 6, 35 Republican House members and 6 Senators still made the decision to side with Democrats on the creation of a commission.

This is especially troubling considering both House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell had both expressed they would not support the bill and neither should any other members of the GOP.

Perhaps their words don’t hold much water now, however, considering that both have formally supported the notion that President Trump was responsible for the supposed failed “insurrection” with McConnell even going as far as to suggest that Trump should face criminal charges.

McConnell had also previously reportedly threatened to instruct a number of Republicans to join in the effort to impeach Trump should Trump have pardoned individuals without McConnell’s permission.

Nonetheless, the Republican Party is a mess and come 2022 we can only hope that voters have had enough and vote to replace those causing division amongst the only political party striving to actually put America first.

It’s time for the establishment RINOs to go.
