REVEALED: McConnell’s Links To Chinese Communist Party

(Rallying Patriots) – If you think it’s just the Democrats who are in bed with the Chinese Communist Party, think again. In a new book by investigative journalist Peter Schweizer, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell is exposed as having ties to the CCP through his wife, Elaine Chao, that have affected his loyalties over the years.

As if we didn’t already know that McConnell is a RINO, Schweizer’s book “Red Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win,” lays to rest any doubt on the matter.

In his book, Schweizer cites a government report spotlighting Elaine Chao’s father James Chao, who was a classmate of former Chinese president Jiang Zemin at Shanghai’s Jiao Tong University.

The government report shows how McConnell’s wife used her position as transportation secretary under President Trump to benefit her family.

Furthermore, McConnell’s father-in-law is the founder of the Foremost Group, which owns some of the largest cargo ships in the world and holds contracts with the Chinese military.

Schweizer has previously discussed McConnell’s relationships with the CCP in an interview with WND in 2018 regarding his book “Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends.”

In that book, Schweizer discusses what he calls “corruption by proxy” in which family and friends of powerful political figures position themselves as middlemen creating “previously unimaginable pathways to wealth.”

Elaine Chao’s sister Angela Chao is now the CEO of Foremost Group, which deals with the Chinese military. Angela Chao sat on the board of directors of the China State Shipbuilding Corporation which builds ships for the People’s Liberation Army Navy.

McConnell has received millions of dollars in political contributions from members of the Chao family and over 10 years ago his father-in-law gave him a personal gift of between $5 million and $25 million that literally quadrupled his net worth overnight.

Schweizer summarized the problem of McConnell and his divided loyalties during a recent interview with The Star News Network.

“You have this fusing of the Chao family and Mitch McConnell to the Chinese state, and it creates a circumstance, if McConnell were to do something that Beijing didn’t like, they could literally destroy the business overnight,” he said.

Elaine Chao has been influencing US-China policy on behalf of the CCP for over two decades. In January of 2001, red flags were already being waved when Chao was first nominated to be George W. Bush’s Secretary of Labor.

Chinese dissident Harry Wu expressed his concerns about Chao’s “business relationship with communist China” at the time.

As for McConnell, he used to hold a staunch opposition to the communist regime in the Senate before his marriage to Chao in 1993. Now he has become one of China’s biggest Republican allies.

Ever since 1994 when he met with high-ranking Chinese officials, including then-President Jiang and the country’s Vice-Premier Li Lanqing, through personal invitation from the China State Shipbuilding Corporation arranged by James Chao, McConnell has been stumping for China in Congress.

He has avoided any public criticism of China since then and most recently has even defended China and their actions against Hong Kong and Taiwan. He declared that “the United States needed to be ‘ambiguous’ as to whether we would come to the defense of Taiwan if attacked by China.”

He has also cosponsored a bill to do away with the requirement that China document annual progress on human rights to maintain its trade status in the aftermath of the Tiananmen Square massacre.

McConnell has fought attempts to punish China for undervaluing its currency and when Chao served under President Bush, her department resisted efforts to call out the Chinese government over its workers’ rights practices.

Chao has even gone as far as to discredit a 2000 bipartisan congressional report that cited Chinese espionage against the US and claimed that China could never pose any threat to the United States.

How has this been allowed to go on for so long. As soon as Mitch McConnell married Chao and changed his tune on China, the red flags should’ve been raised and action should’ve been taken to protect America’s interests.

Sometimes you really have to wonder if anyone in Congress actually has America’s interests in mind.
