Prosecutors Drop Bombshell: Hillary Lawyer Planned Russia Hoax As ‘October Surprise’

(Rallying Patriots) – A brand new report from WND has revealed that former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann, on the eve of the 2016 presidential election, attempted to create what is known as an “October surprise” by feeding the FBI a fake story that claimed Donald Trump was having secret communications with the Kremlin through a Russian bank, according to prosecutors in their opening statements in the trial of Sussmann before a federal court.

Sussmann — who has been indicted in special counsel John Durham’s probe of the Obama investigation into the now disproven Trump-Russia collusion narrative — is being charged with falsely claiming that he was merely operating as a private citizen rather than a political operative for the Hillary Clinton campaign when he handed over information to the FBI.

“CBS News reported that among the high-profile witnesses scheduled to testify this week in federal court in Washington, D.C., are former Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook and former Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias,” WND said. “It was Elias who organized the fraudulent Steele ‘dossier’ that along with the Russian Alfa Bank lie helped ignite the Obama administration’s Trump-Russia probe.”

During court on Tuesday, prosecutors went on to back the “October surprise” claim by putting focus on a meeting between Sussmann and then-FBI general counsel James Baker that was held on Sept. 19, 2016.

Sussmann allegedly gave Baker thumb drives and memos that purported to connect Trump to the Russian bank.

“There was a crime in all of this: the defendant’s lie to the FBI general counsel,” prosecutor Deborah Shaw went on to say. “Whether we hate Donald Trump or like him, we have to agree that some things have to be above politics. One of those things is our law enforcement agencies. The other is the truth.”

The defense representing Sussmann soon fired back, according to CBS.

“You think Mr. Sussmann would throw his career away, his life away, to tell a lie to that guy,” they went on to ask the jury, making a reference to Baker.

The attorneys representing Sussmann then insisted that they contacted Baker to aid the FBI in preparing a New York Times story on the data.

“If Michael Sussmann didn’t care about the FBI, we wouldn’t be here,” defense attorney Michael Bosworth stated to the jury.

He then went on to combat the charge made against his client by calling it “nonsensical.”

“However, one of Durham’s first witnesses, FBI special agent Scott Hellman, argued Tuesday that knowing where the data comes from ‘gives me context,'” the report continued.

“Do I think it’s real and do I trust it?” Hellman asked.

“Hellman was assigned with investigating potential ties between Trump and Alfa Bank. He said it would have mattered if he had known of the political connections the source had to the data,” WND reported.

“We were told very little about the information, if anything at all,” he stated.

Sussmann deserves to be tossed in prison for attempting to interfere in a presidential election and for attempting to sway the outcome in favor of a particular candidate. Make it so!
