Parents Warned They May Soon Need A ‘License’ To Raise Children

(Rallying Patriots) – Stella Morabito, a senior contributor over at The Federalist, recently published a piece warning parents that if the radical left and their sickening anti-freedom agenda are not stopped, parents might soon need a “license” in order to raise their own children.

Folks, this might sound really far-fetched and like something you’d see in a dystopian film or novel, but the radical left already believes that your children do not belong to you, but the state. This is why they try to shut down parents who show up at school board meetings and try to intervene in what their kids are being taught.

In their minds, kids belong to the government, the whole of society, and its the right of the elites to take your children and mold them into statist robots.

“Licensing of parents might still sound fringy, but it’s an old social engineering dream that dies hard. And they’re busily building the road to get there. Unless there is aggressive and sustained pushback, you can count on the idea invading the mainstream,” she went on to explain.

“So parents can’t let down their guard. They hold the key to getting through this wild ride,” Morabito continued.

According to a report from WND, “In her warning, published at the organization’s website, she cited the factors that are at issue now: the racist critical race theory that teaches all whites are racist in schools, ‘extremist’ sex education that includes pornography, ‘social and emotional learning’ instruction to tell children how they should feel, COVID-19 masks and vaccine mandates and more.”

“All of these directives hijack the role of parents as the emotional and moral guides of their children,” she went on to say. “Parents ought to be asking: What next? If those trends are left unchecked, I think the answer could be the state licensing of parents.”

Again, this might sound completely and totally bonkers, but as Morabito noted, “let’s not forget that critical race theory and transgenderism were once laughed off as fringy academic notions before they burst into newsrooms, then into classrooms and public libraries.”

“She pointed to instructor Hugh LaFollette who outlined ‘Licensing Parents’ in a 1980 article, which suggested biological parents should be vetted under the same requirements as adoptive parents, with psychological testing and more,” the WND report said.

The key claim made by LaFollette was that parents should not be considered to have “natural dominion” over their kids.

Three decades later, LaFollette still has that very same agenda, but this time is recommending an “incremental path.”

He then stated parents should be required to take parenting classes. You can guarantee these classes will be to indoctrinate parents on the “proper” things to teach their kids to believe, which will actually be teaching moms and dads to instruct their kids to undermine their parental authority and look at the state as a parent.

“Morabito said there have been efforts to undermine the nuclear family, by characters such as Karl Marx, who rallied for abolition of the family,’ Hillary Clinton’s ‘It Takes a Village to Raise a Child,’ and such,” the report added.

“The hot trend of disrespect for parental rights shouldn’t surprise us. We can feel it when schools hide health information from parents. We see it in legislation that allows minors to be taken in for abortions without parental knowledge or consent. It happens when schools hide from parents their child’s claim to be transgender. Judges have even stripped custody from parents who don’t want their minor child to take cross-sex hormones,” she explained.

Morabito then stated there are three trends that are the reason for her sounding the alarm about this topic. The first is the “growing propaganda campaign that vilifies family cohesion,” the current crusade for so-called “sexual rights” and the special privileges that lawmakers have started to grant regarding sexual orientation and the topic of gender identity.

The columnist then warns parents about claims made by critical race theory that say children in “intact families” have “unearned” privilege that must be “dismantled, along with claims that “sexual rights” are “human rights” and “and sexual orientation mandates like the proposed Equality Act that would injure parental rights,” the report noted.

“She said that alone would’ open the door for a state actor to declare ‘unfit’ any dissenting parent, Christian or otherwise. If that happened, we’d likely see more state-enforced procedures to determine parental fitness,'” the report concluded.
