Iranian Operative Charged In Alleged Plot To Assassinate Former Trump Official

(Rallying Patriots) – On Wednesday, the Justice Department announced charges against an operative from Iran involving an alleged plot to assassinate President Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton.

Guess that means Bolton is not a popular guy in the Middle East region of the world. Yikes. That’s pretty darn scary. At least they caught the individual responsible for this before he was able to successfully carry out his mission.

“While much cannot be said publicly right now, one point is indisputable: Iran’s rulers are liars, terrorists and enemies of the United States,” Bolton went on to say in a statement after the DOJ made their announcement about the charges being filed.

According to Fox News, “According to the DOJ release, Poursafi approached a U.S. resident he had met online and asked for pictures of the former national security adviser, claiming they would be used for a book he was writing. The resident connected Poursafi to someone willing to take the pictures for $5,000-$10,000.”

The report revealed that Poursafi made contact with another individual through an encrypted messaging application and offered $250,000 to hire a person to “eliminate” Bolton. It seems the money was negotiated up to $300,000. Poursafi then seemed to allude to another job after this one that would pay a whopping $1 million.

Wonder who the target was for that bad boy? That’s a whole lot of money so it must have been someone important.

“Poursafi then guided the individual on how to carry out the operation, noting that the use of a small weapon would require the individual to get close to the former Trump administration adviser,” the report continued.

“Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, through the Defendant, tried to hatch a brazen plot: assassinate a former U.S. official on U.S. soil in retaliation for U.S. actions,” stated U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves for the District of Columbia in a recent press release. “Iran and other hostile governments should understand that the U.S. Attorney’s Office and our law enforcement partners will do everything in our power to thwart their violent plots and bring those responsible to justice.”

“Bolton, who did not want the sanctions lifted, was a main architect of the Trump administration’s ‘maximum pressure’ campaign of escalating economic sanctions and threats of retaliation for Iran’s alleged support of terrorism. The idea was to cripple Iran’s economy to the point that its leaders felt they must bargain away any nuclear ambitions and missile technology,” The Washington Post reported.

“Bolton, in a phone interview, said he had been warned by the FBI at first generally and then with a little more specificity last fall that there was a threat from Iran. ‘It got more and more serious, and that’s where ultimately in 2021, I asked the FBI if it was appropriate to have the Secret Service come in,” the WP article continued.

By December, Bolton had a Secret Service detail that traveled in unmarked vehicles. However, after Christmas there were uniformed personnel in marked cars sitting in front of his home.

“Bolton assisted the FBI where he could, he said. At one point the informant, with Bolton’s permission, took two pictures of Bolton leaving his office to send to Poursafi. ‘They [the FBI] wanted to see how far these people were willing to go,’ Bolton said. ‘I was happy to help out,'” the report added.

Now let’s hope the Biden administration DOJ actually does its job to put this evil, vile man behind bars where he belongs.
